Good Bones has started!!

February 1 was the first of the Good Bones workshops, at last!  Yesterday's session was the first in a 3-part series of Saturdays at Pike Place Market (Good Bones 2 will be offered in March on 2.5 consecutive days--it is already full), and it was great to see everyone eager to learn and ready to go.

These workshops are rather intense classes in perspective sketching, with a lot of hands-on instruction.  I downloaded so much information to the 13 participants, but they bore it well, and by the end of the day, even people who had never sketched before were sketching well! The intent is not to have everyone draw like me or in my "style", but to enhance their own way of sketching with a clear process and good, accurate structure, or GOOD BONES!  We were exhausted by the end of the day, but it was so rewarding to see all the ah-ha moments and to see the information integrating into people's sketches.

Thank you again to Urban Sketchers for this opportunity, especially to Orling who amazingly shepherds all these events.
Thanks also to Joe at Pentalic and Bee papers in Oregon for providing each participant with 2 awesome sketchbooks!!
And most of all, thank you to the wonderful participants--I hope some of you will post your sketches to the blogs and flicker pages!
